Plywood:
Production, quality and advantages of plywood for the furniture industry, construction industry and shipbuilding industry
Plywood consists of 3 or more odd number of overlapping layers of veneer.
The layers are glued together with synthetic resin, their fiber direction is always perpendicular to the previous layer. It can be made with waterproof adhesive for outdoor use, or non-waterproof adhesive for indoor use.
We can distinguish the following grades:
B-grade quality:
“Natural” front cover veneer with color variations and live knots. Suitable for laminated coverings, for painting with pigment paint, or for varnishing. Live knots that do not fall out and have a maximum diameter of 35 mm are allowed; as well as – with appropriate plugging – the small protruding lumps or gaps. Slightly more contrasting colors, glue spots here and there, repairs and well-done plugging are also allowed.
BB/BB grade quality:
The front cover veneer is “open” and plugged if required. Suitable for applications where the plywood is not visible. Live knots that do not fall out and have a maximum diameter of 50 mm are allowed; as well as falling lumps, gaps, bark remnants and overlaps are allowed. Discoloration with a natural effect is also allowed, as well as adhesive stains and any repairs and plugging.
C/C grade quality:
Plywood suitable for packaging or similar applications. All natural characteristics of the wood and defects resulting from the construction are allowed, provided that they do not affect the applicability of the plate (e.g. fungus or iron pieces in the plate are not allowed).

Laminated veneer lumber:
